Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness
2 Timothy 3:16
For every Christian, the Bible has been the infallable word and every word in it is derived for God's Holy Spirit.
As I was surfing the net, I came across the site http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/inconsistencies.html
I was confused by the huge number of inconcistencies pertaining to the Holy Word of God. On the way home the question still hung in the air, "How could God permit such inconcistances in his true word when he is called the God Almighty and his word (The Bible) is TRUE."
It took me a couple of days to understand that Man has a very limited thought process which cannot comphrehend the greatness of God. To illustrate lets take the below mentioned example.
Inconsistency #1:
GE 1:3-5 On the first day, God created light, then separated light and darkness.
GE 1:14-19 The sun (which separates night and day) wasn't created until the fourth day.
To dwell on the above "inconsistency", lets have a look at both the verses a bit more closely:
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light - Gen 1:3
And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to
separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to
mark seasons and days and years. - Gen 1:14
In Gen 1:14, God futher creates lights apart from the one that he created in Gen 1:3 to serve as signs to mark the night and day. The day and night occours not because the sun rises during day and moon shines during night but because, the Lord kept the moon and sun in place for man to understand that when the sun is up in the sky, it is day and that when the moon shines it is night.
It seems Man was naive enough to consider the sun, moon and the stars as the only lights and question the infalliable word of God.
Put your trust in the light while you have it,
so that you may become sons of light."
When he had finished speaking,
Jesus left and hid himself from them. -John 12 36
God is light, he shines his face on man so that, man would reflect the light to the world .Man can never ever become the light on his own.Similarly the sun can only be an instument to shine out the light and not become the light on its own.
For the Lord says:
The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness
of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your
everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. - Isaiah 60 :19
May God be praised. - Amen.
